SPRING PROMO: FREE HoneyBear Facial™ through April 30th (see details below)
Keeping with the mission to promote holistic health through positive energy, healing touch, and nature's medicine, DaddyBear™ has added CBD Massage in San Diego and CBD Massage in Los Angeles and Palm Springs to his menu of treatments, using a topical application composed of menthol and a full spectrum hemp oil. This hemp oil contains relevant cannabinoids, terpenes and flavonoids, including a significant amount of naturally occurring CBD acids, that serves both as a potent analgesic and anti-inflammatory treatment. In addition, Menthol is a powerful naturally occurring terpene, shown to increase absorption of other molecules through the skin layers into muscle and circulation.(1) An important distinction to recognize, the product used and sold by DaddyBear™ is derived from hemp.
The marijuana plant contains over 113 different chemical compounds known as cannabinoids. These compounds interact with our bodies via the endocannabinoid system. The two most well-known cannabinoids are THC (tetrahydrocannabinol) and CBD (cannabidiol). THC is responsible for the euphoric, mind-altering effects of the cannabis plant as well as for several medical uses such as relaxation, sleep and drowsiness, appetite stimulant, painkiller, anti-emetic (nausea), and muscle relaxant.(2) Preclinical studies also indicate that THC kills certain types of cancer cells.(3) CBD however is non-psychoactive(4) and has shown to reduce pain, inflammation, epileptic seizures(3), nausea, spasms, intestinal contractions, artery blockage, and tumor cell growth. It is also known to be a mild antidepressant, and as an antipsychotic.(2)
Basically, hemp and cannabis come from the same plant, only hemp contains next to no levels of THC (less than 0.2%), but is abundant in CBD.(3) Industrial hemp is the name given to a variety of cannabis, that is selected for its quality to produce hemp oil. Cannabis is considered hemp when it has under 0.3% THC content and usually contains a higher CBD count. Breeders are now creating specific strains of cannabis just for CBD production. By selectively breeding THC out of certain strains and increasing CBD, these new strains can produce a far higher amount of raw material with the same footprint. In essence, it is hemp that yields vastly superior quantities of CBD by weight—without THC.(4)
The simple answer is “no,” however, there is a bit more to it than that. High Doses of CBD could trigger a false-positive result because hemp products can legally contain up to 0.3 percent THC, but this would only occur when regularly consuming extremely high doses of CBD products (between 1,000 and 2,000 mg/day). However, it is unlikely that even high doses of daily CBD would surpass the federal limit of 50 nanograms THC metabolite per milliliter of urine. Please note, a positive test would be the result of minute traces of THC in the body, not CBD because drug tests are developed to detect THC, not CBD metabolites.(5) The product used and sold by DaddyBear™, CBD Ice, contains only 150mg of CBD per ounce. Unless you are receiving a full-body massage, covering the entire body with CBD, it is unlikely that even one ounce would be used during a massage. With this product, it will take 6.7 ounces to reach an extremely high dose of CBD.

Jun 26, 2018 - The FDA approved the use CBD, derived from marijuana, to treat two rare forms of severe epilepsy. Epidiolex, a form of cannabidiol, will be legally used to treat Lennox-Gastaut syndrome and Dravet syndrome, two serious and rare kinds of epilepsy. Epidiolex is the first approved treatment for Dravet syndrome, according to the FDA.
The U.S. Food and Drug Administration today approved Epidiolex (cannabidiol) [CBD] oral solution for the treatment of seizures associated with two rare and severe forms of epilepsy, Lennox-Gastaut syndrome and Dravet syndrome, in patients two years of age and older. This is the first FDA-approved drug that contains a purified drug substance derived from marijuana. It is also the first FDA approval of a drug for the treatment of patients with Dravet syndrome.
CBD is a chemical component of the Cannabis sativa plant, more commonly known as marijuana. However, CBD does not cause intoxication or euphoria (the “high”) that comes from tetrahydrocannabinol (THC).
It is THC (and not CBD) that is the primary psychoactive component of marijuana.
